ugh they're supposedly playing Give It A Name fest in the UK. But the rest of the line up SUCKS. not going.

i guess the new album's coming out july 1st. new song from it's been put up on their myspace for 24 hours. i can't decide if i like it or not. haha. wasn't a big fan of good mourning or crimson, so we'll see how this goes.

and i need to get on buying that goddamnit rerelease. dvd has brendan kelly involvement right? score!

alk3 and AM! are kind of tied but not really, more like they alternate as my favorite bands. I got into them around the same time, and have been hooked ever since.

I thought crimson wasn't nearly as good as their older stuff, and the music video for burn!? wtf? it reminded me too much of panic at the disco I wanted to cry.

but I listened to the song they had up on their myspace a couple days ago, off of the new record agony and irony, and it sounded more like old stuff, so I'm stoked for july 1.

ditto! i only look when my friend yells at me to do so. apparently we're wasting our money.. but the meet and greets and videos make it worth it when they exist.

Personally, I really like it but I think it might be just because I think it's a real step up from Crimson, it kinda disappointed me. I think it's a huge improvement for Matt, it has a kinda winning feel to it. The only bit I don't really like is the lalalalalalalalalalalalalala bit but whatcha gonna do. But I really really hope all of Agony and Irony pleases me that much. Eeeeeeeee.

yeah, I like help me a lot! the lalalalalalala part does remind me a bit too much of crimson, but other than that I think it's a step in the right direction, it has a lot more of a from here to infirmary feel to it just with crimson vocals, I don't know if that makes any sense or not, haha.

Ahhh holy shit dude. Alkaline Trio is playing at our local venue here! It's a 'special intimate show' I am so excited!!!!! It's at 5 PM, I dunno why it's so early.

I just found out they're playing "near" here in June. I am so there.

Alk3 was my favorite band before I discovered Against Me!, but I still listen to them a ton and love all their shit.

The lyrics are pretty fuckin fantastic and their voices are what really keeps me loving this band.

Just bought my tickets for July 9th in Chicago. Who's gonnna be there?

Where are they playing in Chicago? Are all the venues on this tour smaller ones? Because it's really weird that they're playing in my town at like a 350 person venue.

They're doing a pre-album tour and a post-album tour. The pre-album tour (Zumiez Couch and other dates) is mall parking lots for the couch tour and small venues along the way because the band wants to have some fun. After the release, they're going to middle sized places. I'm seeing them at House of Blues after the July 1st release.

My older brother was really into Alkaline Trio when he was in his early high school years. I was in about 4th or 5th grade when I first heard Radio and he burned me their discography, I've not gotten over how good everything they've put out is, even if Crimson is really a disappointing album, I still listen to them daily, Keep Em' Coming gets my day going. All in all I think they're definitely in the top two battle for my favorite band.

I'm seeing them with Lex tomorrow night, ahhh. I was really bummed cause when I went to buy tickets, they were already sold out. But Lex is the best friend ever and found someone selling one for me, so yayyy! I can't wait.
