what school are you at?
I'm getting my undergrad in Anthropology. (I graduate in two weeks). Over here in Europe. I like the idea of studying Anthropology covering a wide range of different subjects. Here they all are individual subjects of their own and often there's no way of combining them. What exactly are you interested at/What did you like most? the university I attend is a multi-disciple so we have to take classes from cultural, physical and archaeology. we don't focus on one thing specifically. I personally prefer cultural and archaeology. physical is my least fav,

I personally prefer cultural and archaeology. physical is my least fav, I'm an Old Stone Age archaeologist and even though I see the good in physical anthropology I'm glad that there are others who conduct the investigations. I prefer reading their results. ;-)

I am sometimes pretty envious of people who get to work outside. I absolutely hate being inside all day, even if the weather is shitty. To make matters worse, I work in the basement so there are no windows at all. Pretty rough. But then again, at least I'm not stuck outside during the winter. Its a vicious cycle.

| I work at a local pub called the Drum & Monkey, in the kitchen. I guess you could basically say I'm "Head Line Cook", but I don't really want a title because in the history of the kitchen, every time there has been one there's just been a revolt against that guy and he eventually has to quit or get fired. It's a pretty fun job, minus working with your friends. I get to learn a lot about the business of running a kitchen without someone breathing down my neck all the time. My managers are kind of stupid, but that goes without saying. I've been doing kitchen work for around four years now, and this is the highest I've ever been paid, so I'm pretty happy with it. | |

| It can be an alright place. I've been off the sauce for a couple months so I don't spend much time there outside of work, but it's a fine place to grab a pint and usually there's a bunch of local punks just hanging out because the pals of 6th street work there. Not bad tunes during the day and the early evening either, but dub night and weekends are bullshit. Stop in for lunch sometime, it's the best time to sit at the bar in my opinion. But yeah, I don't really go there off shift anymore. | |

| Found out a couple days ago that I got a raise for the summer simply because it's my second summer working. Pretty excited about that but I can't wait to be done with summer jobs that I don't give a shit about and start a real career that I can not give a shit about. | |

| Well, I'm going to quit my job at the end of June. I'm done with the ever declining newspaper industry and will be moving to the Phoenix AZ area in July. Been under-employed for the last 9 or 10 months and I'm tired of just 'surviving.' It's time for a change of pace! Also planning on getting properly educated too. | |

| I got a job doing night cleaning at the airport... I've got to do a full background check, which means writing down every place that I've worked and lived for the past 5 years, including street address and postal codes. Kind of hard, when one of the countries you lived in doesn't use postal codes and often doesn't have street names, let alone numbers... | |

| I'm still the Internet Manager for Champions Powersports. I also do various graphic, marketing, advertising, and as well as all the social media. I fucking love it. I definitely have the coolest job here. It's funny, because when I was hired, my only job was "Internet Sales". Which is basically taking pictures of motorcycles, putting them on the website and maybe other places like Craigslist.
Within a month or two, I increased my workload and responsibility by probably 4 times. Everyone is micromanaged by someone, but I get to pretty much do my own thing. The GM happens to be my friend of probably 15 years, and the only other one that races motocross. But he never has to tell me what to do. We just talk about motocross and outer-space and other fun stuff.
I need a raise, but I'm too pussy to ask. Fuck.

| So today is the day. I'm leaving for the air force. Its a pretty bitter sweet day. I know joining has a bunch of benefits and what not but I'm pretty fucking bummed I'm leaving. Not going to see my friends and family for a while. Tearing me up a little bit. So I say goodbye for right now forum. I'll be gone at least 8 weeks for bootcamp then I head off to tech school. Any of you that are heading to fest have a great time and drink a beer for me. Hopefully I'll be back soon.
