I've been out of work for a while (yes, I am young, but have had various jobs since I was 15) and when I move in a couple of months to go to college I'm gonna have to go back to the work force!
My question is, what can I do that incorporates my laziness and apathy and that will pay well? Or will I have to suck it up do hard labor?
Also, my actual question: What do you guys do to get that bread?

Secretaries, guidance counslers, DMV peeps are all pretty bitter and apathetic, I'd look into that.
I scoop over-priced ice cream for people.

I do data entry, it's boring but I like the people I work with so that's good. I sit at a computer and type in codes for diseases and then enter all their personal information. I get to listen to my iPod and talk, and I make $10.50 an hour, it's super easy.

I work the receiving dock at a department store. Monday-Thursday, no dress code, and once the truck is unloaded, it's pretty much iPod time until the store closes. (I work eight hour shifts, the truck is unloaded by the third hour.)
It's probably one of the easiest jobs out there. I do work with some women, though it's probably not the job an average girl is looking for.

I work the cash register at a video store, it's my third job working the cash register in a retail environment. Don't do it. Next week's my last week, I'm looking for a job that is far away from retail.

This sounds like I can do this. I just want a job where I don't have to deal with people.
Also, I wanted to add that this thread can be used to talk sh*t about you're old jobs/bosses/etc. or why you quit/were fired from your old jobs.

I hate people. So every job I have had has been fairly solitary. I was a janitor in a parking garage for a while, it's not really something for lazy people though, it was pretty hardcore physical. I was a sound guy at a concert venue, which involved people, but I told them to go away and they had to. I also got the police to beat up on some rednecks once. That was fun. I worked in a coffee shop once, but you'll never, ever work alone in a retail job. That was just a really bad coffee shop, but I had a lot of fun doing it, lording my power over the store and being paid to drink coffee and smoke for 10 hour shifts sometimes.
My wife is a night janitor in a hospital, she cleans up blood in operating rooms. That's a fun job.
If you are into being lazy, try getting a union job. If you're in a union, all you have to do is show up. I'm not even kidding. I fucking hate unions.

I deliver pizzas. It's pretty much the easiest/highest paying job ever. You go home with cash every night (from tips) and you get to drive around listening to music. It's awesome. I make like, $30-$80 a night, plus 5.85 an hour. I usually average out about $15-18 an hour

Tips are awesome. When I worked in a coffee shop, I'd walk out with 50$ cash every night. I didn't save a penny of it, though, so if you are making mad tip money, please do consider a savings account. You'll be happy you have something in case you need it later.

I can't get a summer job because my town is so shitty that I can't get a job because college will not allow me to work into the fall............. Yes. college helps prevent me from getting a job. That receiving job sounds awesome, "adamlikesmusic". I wish I could get one like that, but I'm settling for the call center that will hire ANYONE. I could go in there after smoking a bowl and get hired. Seriously, I saw a guy do it.

Pretty much any job you don't directly interract with customers is one where you can easily do high. Most my coworkers get high on break. Whatever keeps you focused, I guess. (I myself don't.)

I am in the Army... the pay sucks when you join, and they work you much harder than any other job that I can think of.

A friend of mine is in the Marines, he says that the signing bonus is pretty insane.
Of course, there is the whole "being shot at by angry brown people" thing that puts a damper on that.
i was going to join the millitary. Honestly, I was. My high school gave the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Test or whatever it is, and I knew that I could ace it and get a sweet desk job, but again, I have a problem being shot at by people who are (rightly) miffed about my presence in their country.
Still, it's probably the most stable job you can get at this point. Every field has it's apogee and perigee, but war will always exist, and be quite the money maker. I may even join the Canadian forces when I get citizenship. Who knows?

Sounds like a good plan. There is a job for everyone in the army, if you want to be a warfighter, then come into the combat arms (I am a medic in an airborne infantry brigade)
But if you do not wish to be on the front line there are jobs like personnell administration, fuel lab tech, preventive medicine etc...
There are all types of jobs in the army, the one constant is that it will get you in better shape and make you grow up faster than your peers... where else can at 21 you make decisions that will directly effect other people's lives?
Here are two videos of me and my guys in Afghanistan, the first is all about me, the second is about us goofing around:

I want a computer job, I could do so much better than a lot of the techs I've had to deal with.
My ice cream job is pretty sweet. I can wait like 5 minutes to give someone their sundae and I won't get shit at all. The only real downside is I have to deal with "really? you guys had this flavor yesterday! how do you not have this flavor today?" or explain to people toppings are not free.

I'm still looking for a job, partially because I'm disturbingly shy in real life and have always been really nervous about applying for jobs, and really nervous about actually working with people. D=

I work at this new golf course, number 9 in the country, number 1 in Montana. its minimum wage, but I work outside, with generally nice people. A couple of good friends, and if the weather is decent, I usually walk out with $40-50 in tips.
