Its like Katrina on steroids.
Dead people just laying in the street and no one has eaten for days. Millions homeless. WTF why is everyone an idiot?

I'd say just copy and paste that into wherever the person posted that on Facebook.

The truth of it is depressing, though. I mean that it's difficult for us to know how bad it really is, which just helps people to stay ignorant.

I donated a bunch of clothes and formula and did the whole 90999 red cross thing.

I'm Dominican so this hit close to home. Not to mention my neighbor who is one of my closest friends is Haitian.

There's a number I can text to give $5 to the Salvation Army... I'd rather give to the Red Cross, and, in fact, have through work, but I guess money to Haiti in general is a good thing.

America, fuck yeah.

It's great America is doing that, but there are volunteers from a lot of different nations out there trying to help.

I think he just hates black people. Why else would we have AIDS, Reaganomics, and crack? And on top of that he started them off on the crappiest continent, its like in this race for survival God started them off with broken legs.

speaking of a crappy continent, i was watching this thing on natgeo today about a hippo epidemic and apparently there is anthrax in their soil as well. that sucks.

So is anyone else kind of skeptical of Wyclef Jean and his candidacy for president of Haiti?

I mean I don't really understand how he's qualified at all.

I was reading about how he claims that his one qualification is that 'he's not a politician' or whatever but then I read that his brother is a former leader in parliament and his uncle is Haiti's ambassador to Washington...so I wouldn't exactly call him an outsider.

I never understood why anyone would vote for someone who earned their livelyhood by being paid to be somebody else.

That's a good point.
But he did have a background in politics before becoming president....and was still a total fuckass.
Also, I think Haiti's probably a bit harder to govern than the US. Although it is probably a little less dangerous to have an idiot in charge there than here since we put the whole world in danger whenever we elect douchebags.

Well Wyclef Jean is/was/is a pretty good business man. Maybe those experiences will help him in making Haiti a better place. It can't get any worse than it is now, right?

I think it can always be worse...and business and politics are..or should be..different things.

Still, I don't know a lot about his political leanings or how educated he is in politics so I could be wrong. It just seems strange to me.
