A teacher of one of my friend's school was there to adopt some kids when that earthquake happened. His school and that teachers family have only received bad messages

blows my mind to think that in the matter of 40 seconds, an entire country was destroyed and 100,000 people were killed. sad days

Its hard to imagine the situation there.
No hospitals, no ambulances, no running water. At least 3 million injured or homeless, sleeping on the street.
It was already the poorest country in the world.

When I heard Haiti got hit my first reaction was like "you gotta be shittin me?". Haiti was one of those countries I looked at and thought well at least things can get any worse. And fuck Rush, guy's an idiot. I got a buddy who works with red cross told me they're gonna need stupid amounts of money to even make the smallest difference here. And its kinda fucked up when you think the biggest natural disaster in forever won't be on the news next week because the networks are fighting for ratings. sigh. Who knows how all this is gonna turn out.

"i don't get what's up with the whole haiti earthquake 'rescue mission'--yes, it's sad and everything but there are places that go through similar situations every day--we can't just go save the people in haiti and not everyone else!"

Sure, we had a massive earthquake here just an hour a go, with millions of dead bodies blocking the roads, but please don't help us.
