| These guys were the first punk band I ever listened to. I thought they were dead before I actually knew to much about them. Nimrod is probably my favourite album at the moment but they are just plain brilliant. | |

| Gotta say I do still love Green Day, after The Offspring they were pretty much the first band I got into.
Insomniac was their best album, I thought. It's so hideously underrated. Stuart & The Ave., anyone?

| God, I think everyone about our age was really into "Dookie" back in the day. I still love that album.
I've been playing "1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours" for my wife, who didn't even know Green Day existed before "American Idiot". I think that old Green Day turned her on to liking punk music, too. They're a magical band.
I think I've loved all of their albums up to "American Idiot". I didn't like that one at all, but "Warning" is brilliant. I can't believe people shit on that album so much. It's so good. And I can't believe that from that they went back to doing what they did when they were 16.
I mean, I never bought into the well "sellouts" thing, but does anyone remember when "Insomniac" came out (a great album too), and they went everywhere saying "We don't want to be old guys with families doing the same shit". And then they up and do "American Idiot" as old guys with wives and kids. Not that I fault them for trying to pay the bills, it's just annoying, is all.
But yeah, "Warning" has to be my favourite album by Green Day. And "American Idiot" is just crap.
Has anyone heard Dean Gray? The re-mix version of "American Idiot"? It's kind of cool. They do one song mixed with the Dr. Who theme.

| That remix sounds great, I'll have a look on the torrents, see if I can grab it. Dookie was the first CD I bought by them, and I loved it, but Insomniac sealed the package for me. I always thought Nimrod was overrated, whereas Warning was... decent, but didn't really hit me in the same way as the others. I think American Idiot could've been a phenomenal pop-punk/rock record if it wasn't for the mass airplay which made me sick of it very, very quick. 1039 and Kerplunk are just... <3
I still love their cover of Knowledge, although I hear they play that at every show nowadays so the novelty has probably worn off to those who've seen 'em live. I'm still gutted I had to miss them the last 2 times they came to the UK :/

| haha, man. I was so into Green Day! I still kind of am, just not as much. I recently saw Pinhead Gunpowder at a tiny little show and it was awesome. Billie Joe looks like a little angry midget, it's cute. Green Day was my first 'big' concert I ever went to, and I had the best time of my life.
My favorite record is probably Nimrod or Insomniac. But I think musically 1039 is the best, I don't know why he doesn't do guitar solos like that anymore. Are you guys into the Foxboro Hot Tubs?

| Aw, Green Day. I haven't met a single person that disliked Dookie. That album holds so many fond memories for me, it's pretty much all my brother & I listened to when we grew up in Santa Cruz. I can't believe I've never seen them live. |

| Green Day was the first band I ever loved that wasn't forced on me by anyone (I'll admit my first favorite band was Guns N Roses) and I still love them, regardless of their horrible music videos, annoying fans, and Tre pushing me at the Pinhead Gunpowder show in Anaheim. Bastard.
Also! I agree with tiny angry midget Beej. I've been referring to him as the lumberjack gnome, but yours works too. Jason was wearing a sleep mask, pj pants and Mardi Gras beads at the LA show, so I guess the hilarious fashion was contagious or something.
Hey so.. thoughts on the Network anyone? I want more. It was hilarious.

| They should have got other people to dress up as the Network and come out during Green Day's set to like.. kick their ass or something since they always pretended to hate "eachother".
My friend was at one of those shows. I was jealous. I'm jealous of alot of things she gets to do, though.

| I almost went to their show at the Warfield, one of the 'secret' shows. It would have been amazing, I'm still kicking myself. I remember the next day at school I showed my best friend the setlist and we weeped together. | |

| Yeah, I never did understand why they gave up on that, they were perfect for what they play.
There was a video up on youtube of them playing Going To Pasalacqua back in like '91, then another one of them playing it in 2006. It's amazing how much they've moved on, but still have elements of their really old days.
They're such a great band still.
