Jay Weinberg leaving Against Me!

From Jay Weinberg's twitter this morning "I want to let you all know that I am leaving Against Me!, and I wish them all the best."

I wonder why he decided to quit. Now comes the question who they will get to take his place?

I really want more information why he's leaving. And I don't want a new drummer. It can only get worse...

It was so much fun while it lasted.

Jay for sure was a perfect fit for AM! Hopefully they finished recording, that would suck if they were not only left without a drummer but also a unfinished album.

Hmmmmmm.

I don't know how he could just leave like that. If it was to pursue his art for more personal recognition or whatever, that's nonsense. He's got plenty of drum endorsement deals, SJC builds him custom kits, and he tours with a band that he claims he was a huge fan of for plenty of years, a band that has a die hard following that are incredibly stoked on what he brings to this band. Any fan would kill to be in a position like that, travelling the world, getting free gear with people you grew up listening to.

He was living the dream.

I can understand Warren. He had done it for SO long, and he wanted to pursue his restaurant. But I can't really figure out what Jay's deal was, if he left on bad terms, that's really unfortunate. I really appreciated everything he brought to their live performance.

I really hope they find the right missing piece, and that it's someone that wants to stay long term.

It's most definitely going to fuck the release of this album.

LeMoine, I believe drums have been recorded for months now. Also, I imagine all songs were demo'd with multi tracks. There's still hope!

I can't see them getting a new drummer and not recording the drum tracks over again, honestly.
