Againstmeforum reference in a university assessment. So awesome. I studied management at uni (yuck) but we were allowed to choose one non-related elective course. I chose the Geneology of Rock and Pop and did an assessment on AM!'s All Or Nothing. Highlight of my degree! What are you studying? I would love to go back and study something I am actually interested in!

My course is a bit of a joke at the moment, it's going through a transitional period and a lot of the students are studying to be teachers (lame). im doing a Bachelor of Music in Brisbane at QUT, majoring in cello and compositional performance. it's only this year that i've started to get really involved with philosophy and gender issues and i feel im a more accomplished student for it

Brisbane! My fave Australian city. I didn't notice your location. I lived on the Gold Coast my whole life and have only just moved down here to Tassie. We've probs been to heaps of AM! shows together! I've seen them 3 times in Bris and then saw Laura again when she played with Chuck. That's so cool!

I always regretted my choice of study at uni. Such a waste of time/money. I would love to go back and do Sociology and historical gender studies. All the best!

ha! no way! i've seen them every time they've played here and i work at the zoo where the revival tours have been performing at! even on the internet brisbane is so small

that's the way im headed, i've been offered an honours degree to study gender issues within punk and hardcore which is a big deal considering what the rest of QUT has been renowned for

Haha I probably didn't notice because I was also losing my shit over the Flats at the front! Best band there! Did you notice how many people there were wearing Against Me! shirts? It was so weird. Like every second person. It was like everyone was trying to make a point.... Trying to be supportive I guess. It was just really strange, but awesome at tr same time.

Anyone else notice a sudden influx of AM! shirt wearing fans at non-AM! shows?

Is it just me or does Laura look a lot like Sigourney Weaver? Everytime I see a picture of her since she began transitioning I can see the likeness.

It's almost been 3 months since we got the news about Tom being Laura. And I just read this whole topic again and have been thinking that besides all of the things that confused or worried me when I first read the article, this has all been really cool so far.

I didn't know a damn thing about transgender... what it is...what it means...what it feels like for the people and what changes are included

One thing that I just realized is that I remember thinking, that it would be strange to see Laura on stage with "Tom's voice" and that it would be confusing. But seriously all the Videos of her performing are just so natural and pure and honest that it all seems so right and just natural when she is on stage. That makes me so happy I can't wait to see her and the band performing

Actually I figured it out. It's really easy.

If you aren't using Chrome yet, do that.

Then download ProxMate (it's an addon).

Boom, done. It installs itself, then go back to the link and you're good to go.

There are easy to handle proxy plugins for other browsers as well, e.g. anonymox for firefox.
