Where did you hear there's an interview because the RS site has no mention about it for the new issue.

Tom Gabel is getting a sex change?

the issue isn't in stores yet.

From what I've been told (I'm still waiting for the person to post more pics so I can read the article) tom is a transgender...so a he feels like a female trapped in a male's body.

I think getting a sex change is completely different. getting a sex change is transsexual.

I am kind of sad, which I guess is silly. But like, we're losing Tom Gabel, in a sense. It's a big change to wrap my head around I guess, but whatever. Let's be supportive.

I can't imagine the amount of **** a person would good growing up with a relatively famous transsexual father.

I registered just to respond to this. It's despicable that you treat it this way. To say "being transgender is fucking weird" is nothing short of xenophobic. You talk as though you will have to come to grips with just tolerating the issue. Totally uncool.

I disagree completely, all he said was it was weird.

Knowing someone for 15 years, and then reading something so utterly unexpected is weird.

weird may have been a poor choice of words. To most people transgender is confusing and incredibly unfamiliar. Maybe having someone like Tom Gabel can help them understand it better
