not to be nit picky but Iran is not Arab, they are Persian. They would be insulted if you said otherwise

That's like saying that they're not Arab, they are Iranian. And surely it's part of Asia.
Either way, it's irrelevant. The Arab world's protests have been a catalyst for Iran's movements.

I don't think so, I think a Persian is different from an Arab. Still, your second point stands.

Why China, Tim? I see what you mean but why there specifically?
They already had a demonstration, and they named it after the one in Tunisia.

Does anyone think other countries like the US and UK should arm the Libyan rebels?

Yeah, it seems like US involvement would just give the other side more reason to oppose the opposition.

haha im talking about wayyyy back in the 1870's. Have you seen Last Samurai? The back story is true. We forced Japan to modernize to benefit us and decades later they invade China and a ton of other places, then bomb Pearl Harbor.

America didn't really play a part in Japanese modernization. It was mostly the French.

i remember it was Admiral Perry who went in Tokyo Bay with guns ready to blast the Japanese navy. The Japanese stood down and complied with the American presidents demands. Maybe the French did something too.

I can probably gurantee if the US gives weapons, it'll be almost exactly the same situation with Afganishtan. Cause during the Cold War, the US gave the Afgans weapons to help beat the Soviets.... Well, they beat the Soviets, but the US just abandoned Afgainistan after, and it was in really bad shape... They still haven't recovered.

I don't know that it would be the exact same situation. Afghanistan is a pretty unique place. I do think its a terrible idea though. I would compare it more to if we were to get involved in Iranian affairs or something like that. I mean, Gaddafi and his supporters already use the west as a scapegoat for their problems and blame us for the shit going on now, so to actually arm the rebels would only prove them right. Not to mention the implications it would have for whatever government they would set up in place of the one they have now.
