I'm going to finish The Picture of Dorian Gray within the next couple of days. The Great Gatsby is already waiting. Despite your post I'm still looking forward to it!

Don't get me wrong..it's not like it's a bad book or anything. But I prefer it when a book somehow affects me or makes me think about different things in life. And with "The Great Gatsby" there were a few things I liked but it's not like my life would be incomplete if I hadn't read the book.

Pale fire was an incredible book. An easy read, but impossible to understand. The menzingers referenced the first two lines.

Just finshed it. I liked it, although the story is not innovative from a contemporary poimt of view. However, considered against the background of the 1920ies it gains novelty in style and described setting.

I just read Great Gatsby for the first time last year. It was honestly one of the best books I've ever read

Finished Dostoyevsky's 1871 novel Demons yesterday. The first, um, let's say, 600 pages were a bit confusing and I didn't see where it was all going, but the last 300 were just brilliant and absorbing.

These bastards killed Shatov! It still makes me angry and sad.

Ya'll motherfuckas need to go out and get this book called Shantaram. It's a true story about this dude who escapes prison in Australia, flees to Bombay, lives in a slum working as a doctor (despite only first aid training), becomes an enforcer/book-keeper for the Bombay Mafia, and fights in the Afghanistan War (1980's version) among other things. It seriously is one of the finest books I've read.

What's the book about?

It's called The adventures of Mister Bear. So it's about Mister Bear and his adventures, but his adventures aren't really adventurous. He buys an apple pie, gets into car trouble, has to see the doctor because he accidentally cut his hand and stuff like that. His neighbour Miss Bunny is madly in love with him and this leads to gossip. There is no actual gossip in the book, but Mister Bear gets to deal with the consequences of it (he tries to make reservations at a local restaurant and the owner assumes he does it for himself and Miss Bunny).
