Holy shit!

So we got a shitload of new members in the last couple hours, which is awesome! Thanks to Against Me! for posting a blog about it on their Myspace, it's much appreciated. So hopefully everyone can get along with the new people, if not then I have a very easy way of fixing that. Just want to say welcome to all the new kids, play nice, be respectful and everything will be fine and dandy.

haha, I hate punks most of the time. I show up at shows, and I'm by far the least 'punk looking' but whatever. I don't think punk is a fashion statement. Believe me, it won't happen here because I won't put up with it.

Elitism is a pain that's plagued the "scene" since the start. AM! "fans" are sadly particularly bad for it, with all those morons going on about how they've liked them since the first demo when they clearly haven't, and how they've "sold out", and all this shit. Fuckin' irritating.

Isn't "punk" just dressing however the fuck you want? Why does the whole punk look have to be about the studs, hair, and even tatoos?

Looking and thinking "punk" is just freedom in my mind, expressing yourself however the hell you want, even if that doesn't mean you stand out.

I find that the people that do stand out with the jean vests and 20000+ studs and mohawks spend twice as much money as I do looking the way they do. Whats the damn point in that...?

My English professor had a funny saying 'I want to be different, just like everybody else!' But I think it rings pretty true.

Certainly it rings true for a large portion of the alt scene.

I don't see the problem with looking the same as other people, but there's no way in hell I go out of my way to look like anyone. I just wear what's comfortable... so, jeans and a t-shirt.
