| Since I finished uni for the summer, I am back working for the government. Suits are required, dark glasses strictly optional.
Yeah, I sold out.
I actually work for the council, organising kids with places in schools and organising appeals for their parents against denial of entry into schools. So if a kid fails his 11+ test I have Mr & Mrs Fuckwit on the phone telling me the test was too hard, lil' Fuckwit Junior was ill that day, the test invigilator had scary eyes... All manner of excuses. So I sit and get shouted at on the phone most of the day, 9-5, 5 days a week. But at the end of every month I get a little bit nearer to clearing my phenomenal student overdraft, so it's all good.
Seriously though, in the UK, if you're after easy money in a fairly mindless job... Get data input or some form of admin/clerical work. It's boring, but well paid and a comfortable working environment... and if the people you work with are decent, then it's usually not that bad. Plus many offices run a flexi-time system nowadays so you can pretty much work the hours you want. I doubt it's any different in the US either.

| I applied for a job at Starbucks because a lot of my acquaintances work there and they're flexible with hours. I'm such a sellout, but it feels pretty damn good. |

| I work at a pizzeria. It's kind of mind numbing but you get paid for standing around and occasionally making a pizza which you end up eating anyways. | |

| I'm a secretary for an expert defense witness for Kawasaki. I get the boring shit, filing and answering phones, but my brother and boss get to reconstruct accidents and blow shit up and use crazy expensive high speed cameras and travel and junk. It's actually a super stressful job; a paralegal should really have my position. | |

| I don't have a job. I quit my last one about a month ago so I could go see Hot Water Music and Bouncing Souls Now I need one again. I think I'm gonna go down to the local record store/ head shop and see if they're lookin to hire. I'm on pretty good terms with the owner so what do I have to lose.? | |

| I work at a cafe. I'm a waitress. I take people's orders, give them their food. Provide them with caffeine kicks.
ALOT of people are complete assholes. But you still have to smile and be nice to them. Sometimes I have to stop myself from snotting in their cappucinos.
But the people I work with are nice. And the money is good. And some customers are nice.

| I suck so much at jobs where you have to smile and take people's shit. I did that at Wal*Mart, and when some guy yelled at me and told me he was going to take his business elsewhere, I smiled and said, "Go right ahead." | |

| I take odd jobs at my school... this last time I was a model for a figure drawing class. $10 an hour to sit around. The best job I ever had was my very first job in a little book store where after one week the owner would leave me alone in there to open/close the store and we got maybe one or two customers a day so I just sat in a big comfy chair, played whatever music I wanted, and read. Oh, those were the days. | |

| i dont have to clock out for breaks just lunch. which really kills me since it basically makes me under an hour... i work at value village as of last friday. i got paid to fill out paperwork awesome! btw washington minimum wage is fucking $8.13 ridiculous ANND!!?! after three months i'll be full time and i get paid 40 bucks to not smoke every payday. soo for working 8 hours plus [maybe] not smoking i made almost 100 bucks i was at the end of the pay period so my check will only be fore seven hours plus the hour i spent filling out paperwork. so much fun. and they have benefits which is really strange to me. health dental the works. | |

But usually I'm working for my dad, landscaping, concrete, etc. His website can give you a better idea of what I basically do during my summers. http://www.klassenconcrete.com
