You're quite good, definitely not bad. You lack melody imo but that might not be the direction you want to take. I would listen to it again though.
Do you know the band Wedding Present? You kind of remind me of them and they're very very good.

I think that's a fair assessment, I'd like to get some more melodies in there definitely. The trouble is none of us are terribly gifted musicians, Chris aside so we can be limited by our own capabilities but we can work on that. We haven't even been together a year yet, so we're doing okay. I'm glad you liked it tho and thanks for taking the time to listen to it. As for the Wedding Present, I've heard of them but not heard them. What albums should I try out?

Well goodluck with it all, there are definitely worse bands than you doing well.
Listen to What have I said now first, such a good song.

Cheers mate, I'll give it a spin. You might want to take that link down tho, I think it's frowned upon.

I gave it another listen and I've changed my opinion, its good stuff. I like the way it all fits together, like some bands the guitar don't match the drums, the lyrics don't match the general sound of the music etc but with you I think it all fits together nicely. I'm not sure if its just poor production or whatever but I also like the way the drums seem to lead the song rather than just being there. I also like your singers voice, a few nice lyrics too. Still think you're short on melody though.
Listening for a third time now and I think its that you can create and sustain an atmosphere better than the majority of punk/rock bands, who writes your songs?

That was conscious to have the drums right out front, but I would still have liked a bit of a boost on the guitar because I think they get a bit buried in some parts. The songwriting we all cover, somebody brings in the bare bones of a song and we all chuck in our two penneth worth if it needs it. Far Enough, for example, was just about fully formed when it was first written, except for the big outro and the tremolo effect chords in the verses. Thanks for putting the effort in though, it's good to know you've not just played it once and forgotten about it.
I like that Wedding Present stuff btw, I had it on a couple of times yesterday.

A dark ambience, mostly Lustmord inspired piece that incorporates a collection of EVP recordings. I call it Old Friends.

I enjoyed that. I remember when you posted your first song thing that you recorded with a rock band mic or something.

I might have, I don't remember. I do have another cleaner, acoustic version. That was probably the one I posted. If you want to hear it let me know.

Wow I totally forgot I'd posted that in here. Thanks for your support! We were in the studio again last weekend so we should hopefully have some new tracks mixed very soon. We're also supporting my current favourite uk ska band The Skints at my local rock bar in 10 days, so that's gonna rock

Hey everybody,
I play some acoustic songs under the name 'Harker'. It's Against Me! influenced but it's more in vein of Chuck Ragan/Lucero but i'm pretty sure people on here will like it. My first demo is up for free download at the moment, 3 tracks with a Jawbreaker cover included. i'll drop the link here:
Harker - Loyal than Most/Lights Off
I'm also working on another record at the moment which i'm hoping to be available for free download and a short run of physical copies in early next year. Here's a track from it:
Oh and if anyone is interested you can keep up to date with me here. Although I hang round on the message boards a lot. Give me a buzz!:
