AM! had some powerful lyrics way back when. New Wave still had a lot of old AM! anger, but White Crosses felt really soft, and now that Laura is out as a transgender, the anger she had bottled up is all gone and has been used up. We're not gunna get Disco or 35% again, we're not going to get lyrics like found in the Searching album.
I listen to AM!'s later releases because I love the band and will always support their work, including the new album if / when it ever comes out, however I think we can all agree Laura and her song writing ability peaked a few albums ago.
Whatever though, here's hoping there's still a bright future in there somewhere. I still want to see this band one more time live. Who doesn't? You see them once and it's like a drug.
