Frank Turner UK November 2011

Looks like Against Me!s finally coming back to Europe in order to support Frank Turner. I hope there'll be a couple of more shows on the continent.

I'm so excited about this!! Being honest, I've never heard of Frank Turner before, but when I looked up him hes post harcore apparently so Im hoping this is a good sign. None the less, I'll be going just to see Against Me no matter what.

I'll be waiting for them to headline.

Too expensive for just a support slot. I was gonna book some tonight, but thankfully my card failed to process. I've decided against it now cos I'll be seeing them a few weeks before at Fest.

Yeah Frank Turner used to sing for Million Dead. He's an acoustic man now, only he's got a band that play with him too these days.

It'll be weird seeing him and Against Me! in an arena, I remember seeing them both before now in small venues. Can't wait though.

Yeah, I mean with million dead and if he used to be in a band that was post hardcore thats a good sign to me! But aye as I said I know nothing about him so Im looking forward to listening to him. Any songs you's would recommend to begin with??

Love, Ire and Song is probably my personal favourite. Also The Ballad of Me and My Friends, Photosynthesis, Worse Things Happen at Sea, Try This At Home, and Glory Hallelujah (from the new album), just to name a few.

Start off with getting the album 'Love Ire & Songs' and then go to the new one 'England Keep my Bones'

I have to disagree. Poetry of the Deed is his best work. Start there. Or just get all of it, it might be simpler than waiting for a consensus on where's best to start.

I happen to think that is his weakest, which isn't saying much. I love it, don't get me wrong, but Love Ire And Song is SOOOOOO good. And the new album is very good too. I haven't listened to his 1st album though

Yeah I agree, Lore Ire & Song is my personal favourite. That album changed my perspective on so many things.

But yeah, there's no best place to start. "Sleep Is For The Week" is basically him and a guitar for the most part, and he's gradually introduced more of his band since then. Sorta.

its really fucking annoying. TWICE in TWO years they've cancelled in Wales. yeah Frank Turner is OK but i went to thrash out to AM! not some acoustic singer/songwrtier BS. I REALLY HOPE AM! SORT IT OUT AND PLAY A SHOW IN WALES!

Ha I know I'm way late in getting back to this but anyways!
I downloaded his discography and tbh I didn't really like it. Some of his lyrics are good, but I just didn't really like the his accent or felt like 'wow this is awesome' but I've kept it on my ipod and maybe in a while I'll like it a bit more.

I ended up selling my ticket to see him at Hammersmith and just went to see AM! on their headlining night at the peel as as it would be my first time seeing them I decided a smaller venue would be best and one where they are headlining. And it was definitely a great decision for me. Was the best gig of my life and the crowd was amazing.

I'm hoping next time they come to the Uk which will hopefully be this Autumn they'll play the Peel again, it was such a cool venue!
