Fuck yes!! Finally a California tour date, shit. I'm stoked to go even though the BFD I went to a couple years ago was totally miserable.

hahah, oh gosh that one year it was SO bad. But I wanna go, just for the memories.

Yeah I wanna go just for the shits and giggles, and to see AM! of course.

what was so bad? the bands?

I think it was just super hot, poorly organized, some of the bands were really lame and the crowd sucked. But I'm fuckin stoked for this weekend.

The main stage looks like ass, but if no interesting bands are on the side stage I'll probably check out Hole's set. Courtney Love is, well, Courtney Love but Live Through This is one of my favorite female-fronted rock albums ever. AM!, Gaslight Anthem and The Soft Pack (formerly The Muslims) on the side stage should make this worth the trip.

Seriously. I'm leaving after I see those three. Before the BFD date was announced I bought tickets to see MC Chris at Slim's on the same night. I'm gonna try and make both shows.


We should all wear some ridiculous shit in the AM! pit so we know who the other forum members are.

BFD's generally suck. The bands play a short time and the shoreline is a pretty big venue that is not very intimate. Is the Mainstage going to be in the ampitheater or in the parking lot like warped tour is? I really like AM! but going to these big concerts are generally a disaster what you get for the money sucks. You guys should have gone to the show in San Jose and Stockton a few months ago. Sound quality will be okay, but the boys are probably only going to get 40 mins tops, and will probably play a lot of newer stuff. I am still undecided to if I should go. I guess there are not any upcoming CA shows for a while, maybe I'll be forced to go. How much are tickets for BFD by the way?

I went to the San Jose show a few months ago, but I'm still going to this. I try and see AM! every time they're in CA no matter what the setting is. Last time I went all of the bands played in the parking lot. Tickets are like the same price for Warped tickets, I think, over 30 bucks after Ticketmaster fucks you.

BFD generally does suck but I figure 40 mins of AM! + hanging with one of my best friends + beer should make it better than being at work all day. Also Courtney Love is playing with Hole which should be hilarious. I'm stoked.

The order might be a little wrong. I'm sure about the first 3 and last songs though. It sounded like Tom was having guitar issues, it was way too quiet and became really apparent during the intro to New Wave. While that was going on someone nearly pegged him with a shoe, handled it like a professional though hah. White Crosses sounded odd with Franz playing the lead parts but aside from that he was a good addition to the band. He played the accordion for one song but I can't remember which because you couldn't even hear it.

Other BFD notes:
Gaslight didn't play 1930 or Woody Joe, made me sad.
During Silversun Pickups' set there was a girlfight between some 30+ year old burnout and a teenager. Pretty sad.
The venue was selling Green Day + AFI tickets for 20 bucks. Despite the theatrics and guyliner I coudn't pass on that, haha.
I saw Lauren there, buying a 2 foot margarita. Said hello.

Whatttt, the Green Day tickets were only 20 bucks?! Totally bummed I didn't catch onto that.

I was stoked about the set, but was the crowd kinda weak or was it just me? I didn't even see you in the crowd, Cesar! I was in the very front and there were only two other people (dudes) near me rocking out to every song, including the new ones. I had fun though. And you totally caught me buying a 2 foot margarita, but it was delicious!

I was right at the rail too, in the middle between both stages. The crowd was weak but it looked better in front of Tom than where I was (in front of James).

Did you watch Hole perform? Courtney Love was so cracked out, I loved how she was yelling at the audience. "I guess I'll play another old one after this because you motherfuckers are stuck in the 90's!" Then she made some remark about how she couldn't believe that Hole was playing before Deftones.

Haha, I was tempted but we decided to leave before the parking lot became a warzone. I can't believe both of those bands played before a fake Sublime.
