| I've been reading some threads on this site for a bit now, so i figured I'd might as well join.
Against Me! is my favorite band, and they have been for the last year and a half. Before then, some of my friends were into them and they were actually playing a show in my area at the time. I had heard of them before, but they just didn't appeal to me (I was more into ska), so I didn't go. The day after the concert, I decided I might as well give them a chance, so T downloaded some of their stuff. T downloaded the rest of their studio discography that day.
Against Me! is fucking genius. I could listen to them for days and not get sick of them. In my case, I usually have a band that I'm into for a while and then another comes, but Against Me! has never, nor will ever, get old.
I haven't seen them live but I'm obviously planning on seeing them next time they're around Boston (which is, unfortunately, Warped Tour). Seeing them in a small venue is something I would die for, but I got into them too late for that. Who knows, maybe a miracle will happen and they'll play at the Midway Cafe... or my basement!
Also, I've been getting more into their pre-Crime stuff as of late, so I'm pretty glad that this site has some awesome audio available for download.
So yeah... Expect to see me around here.

| Welcome.
Let me be the first person (ever) to say that small shows are overrated.

| I don't know. I saw Bomb The Music Industry! at the Midway Cafe (like the name implies, it's a cafe) and it was a damn good concert. | |

| Well, it's not that all small shows suck, it's just that they are not, conversely, all good.
I've gone to a couple of small shows, it's hard to not enjoy the band when there are only 3 other people there. It's also hard to enjoy a show when there are only 3 people there and the other 2 want to do that thing where they just start beating each other up at random (I don't know what that's called, "the pit"?). And there's never hard liquor at the smallest small shows. But then again, I'll never do anything unless there's gin.

| Welcome to the gang. I would've killed to be at that Bomb... concert. Almost got to see them at Reggie's in Chicago w/The Slackers, but college interfered.
I agree that small shows are pretty much hit or miss. There's so many variables to a good show that I"m too lazy to list out.

Agree. Why, there was this one show where the wind was coming in out of the west, and it completely ruined it.

| Welcome! I'll be at the Boston Warped Tour too, cause I'll be there on vacation. I'm excited! I know Warped sets aren't the best, but it's better than nothing! |

| I guess it depends how small a small show is. If there's 10 people there... Bleurgh. But if there's 50-100 there... It works better. At least, I count everything with less than about 100 people there to be a reliatively small show. | |

| When Andew and I were hanging out in Munich after he had played and while DKM was playing he told me that the problem with playing something this big (or even bigger when they played with the Foo Fighters) is that you can't "own the crowd"
For me I do prefer smaller shows, but the biggest factor for me was that they were not headlining the show and so many people were there only to see DKM and many did not even know who AM! was, so obviously they could not get super psyched about them.
