I am 100% not surprised at all. Andrew and James just seemed to have nothing to really contribute anymore. It's beginning to seem more and more like the Laura show.
And, I think the most interesting part about Laura's comment on the site was:

God damn. I really hope that they will play under a new name from now on - kinda expecting TGDB to be a solo record now. Maybe it'd be nice as "The Acoustic LP"?
I think that without Andrew it really is not the same band. Drummers come and go (with the possible exception of Warren) but Andrew is too much of the band's spirit.

As much as I hope this won't be the end of AM! I don't really see the band going on anymore.
It took them ages to find a new drummer (and they still won't even tell us who it is)...how long to find a new bass player? Maybe the album still will come out but what's going to happen after that..?

I wish Laura and James would be more active. I understand that all the things that have happened in the last months have been pretty difficult for them and that they probably need time to understand what happens but any kind of positive information would be good right now How about letting fans know who the new drummer is. What's the deal with keeping it a secret?
Right now I'm just really afraid to check twitter or the forum because I don't wanna read that AM! is breaking up. We all know things are fucked up but Laura+ James+ new drummer could tell us they still want to make music and really want to put out the album because that's what they love doing and not just to put that record out
I'd be happy about any kind of communication from am! and not just short statements. Maybe it's stupid but I would really really really appreciate to read that they still want this and wanna keep going

So bummed, but I wish Andrew the best. From their statements it looks promising for Laura and James. I just really hope Andrew had his parts on the album finished. I'd rather not hear someone else playing the parts I've heard him play for the past year or so.

At this point in time I wouldn't mind if they broke up. I was kinda pissed earlier hearing andrew leaving. But sometimes good things must come to an end.

This is the worst news, man... I've only seen AM once and I was right in front of Andrew the whole time and he was the energy x10... he signed my setlist and had a beer with me after the show, awesome dude. I have a feeling TDB will be the last release under the name against me.. should do a final tour to accompany it.

I'm not sure how I feel. If they stop using the name then the only way i would be ok with it being be used again if it was :Laura and Kevin. That will probably never happen. I am bummed about Andrew leaving the band, he definitely was the most energetic at the shows and I'm so used to his vocals now.

Had a weird dream last night that I saw AM! play a show. Andrew was still on stage but had no bass, he was just miming the words. The drummer was someone I didn't recognise. James and Laura were playing normally but looked really sad. It was a pretty sad dream!
