| I think its a good move. Like everyone else I didn't like the latest installments, they would really have to try and make ep.7 suck that bad. | |

| Good point, it'll be damn hard to make a worse movie than episode 1 and 2. Still, episode 7 could be a train wreck. Imagine 73 year old Harrison Ford and 64 year old Mark Hamill going through the motions. (okay, it's actually kind of exciting) | |

| Why do people keep assuming it'll be at all based off the skywalkers?
Idk I kind of expect just something set in the universe.

I think a lot of that assumption comes from people assuming this third trilogy is the one that Lucas talked about in the 80's when there were four trilogies he had figured out apparently. I don't know it could go either way. I'm not familiar with the expanded universe but I think they follow the Skywalkers somewhat. Either way I see no problem in people thinking this could be Skywalker based.

| The story continues as one of the sons of Han Solo and Princess Leia turns out to be the next Sith Master thingy and then all hell breaks loose. Also, Chewbacca dies | |

| I'm thinking it'll follow the Solo kids too.
I guess Lucas wanted to give a new generation a chance at it. It can't be worse then Episode 1.
Disney did really well with the Avengers. With the right director, who knows.

| I don't know if it'll follow Solo's kids. It's what i was hoping for. There are books about his kids that are accepted as canon and Disney has already said the story is 100% original. | |

| I doubt they'll use any of George Lucas ideas. It'll all be original and Disney. Hopefully more full-frontal nudity and cow bell. | |

| But for it to be an Episode 7, wouldn't it have to connect to 1-6? They couldn't ignore the Lucas idea all together. | |

| Lucas did write 12 screenplays only 6 have been flimed... He sold them to Disney cause he thinks a younger generation of directors and producers could do better. Plus Disney has the money and is the leading special effects company. | |

of course they could. why not? In the end lucus has no say in it. Look at the recent Batman movies or even Star Trek. I could see it being the start of a whole new story. (which would be better) why would they pigeon hold themselves in someone else's idea?
