The digital download IS a 160kbps vinyl rip. That's what my download code got me.

I'm having a bit of a crisis of confidence in my own ability to be impartial about TGDB. I honestly can't tell if I'm overvaluing its merits because it's not as bad as I thought it was or undervaluing its merits because it can't possibly stack up to their early work in my mind.

So, was the newsprint album cover sheet thing the "free gift" for having to wait to get the record? Color me underwhelmed.

What is it? Like a print? I'm still waiting for my copies.   

I'll have to take a picture. It's just a big-ish image of the album cover on newsprint. Nothing you'd frame or anything. Just a black and white newsprint...picture. I don't get it.

Framing the stuff prints on newspaper material is the best way to go actually. Makes it look much better than just some cheap poster.

I was interested to note, after spinning this for the first time yesterday, that it wasn't pressed at United although Laura gave it as her recommended pressing plant on twitter a few months back. In fact, I've never heard of the place that pressed it ("The Vinyl Guru"). It's not clear to me if they're a broker or what... v interesting.
