Canceled tour dates?

Anyidea why I just got an email saying against me! Melbourne show has been cancelled along with all their 2010 dates?

There's nothing on their website saying it's cancelled.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances Against Me! have had to cancel all upcoming tour dates in 2010. Refunds will be available at point of purchase, sorry for any inconvenience this has caused our fans."

Yeh it's true : ( It's on Triple J and Bombshellzine and stuff. Effing sucks. My sis and I had tix, flights and accom for the Brisbane, Sydney and Newcastle shows. Worst news ever.

Nah I don't really care about that. All our tickets will be refunded and we may be able to cancel our accom. Don't know about flights though. I'm more devo'd about not getting to see AM!. This tour was going to be amazing. My friend's band managed to score a support slot for the Bris show. We were looking forward to it for so long, and now, two days before the tour is scheduled to start, we hear this! I wonder what "unforeseen circumstances" may be...? I hope nothing serious has happened : (

Hopefully it all works out fine and their back on the road in no time. It's been 2 and a bit years since I have seen them up until the last tour I had seen them a few times a year for about 4 years was a good run

I'm just confused as to why they'd cancel all dates for 2010. Aren;t they off to Germany after Aus or something? If it was like a travel/VISA issue then they'd only cancel Australia...? Maybe I'm just looking into it too much. But the tour started in 2 days! Did you see them all those times in Aus? I saw them in 2007 and 2008 (I think it was). Feels like ages ago : (

I saw every Melbourne show from 05 or 06 can't remember which year was their first tour. I guess we will find out soon enough the reasons behind the cancelations

They were supposed to go to Europe after touring down under. So I think it's unlikely to be a visa problem.

That's sucky news, but they probably have a good reason for it. After all, they are a touring band.

And may I add it's heart-breaking to look through here and see a load of blank ticket silhouettes.

best case scenario: their van was stolen and all their equipment is gone.
