Russian spies

In DC and NY the FBI arrested a bunch of suspected spies. I was wondering what this does to relations with Russia. Do we just wag our finger at them and go "nice try?" or are we going to war with them. Seems like a big deal. I remember a year ago there was a Chinese spy that was caught and nothing really came of it. Maybe that's just how the game is played and we all just move on.

i was looking at some of this, and to be honest it doesn't seem like any of these people were really too deep into anything.
a handful of them were couples with kids. one couple lived 5 minutes away from me in yonkers.
one of them was a hot young single girl in nyc who went to high class parties..
it just makes me wonder, what kind of "top secret" information were these people really relaying.

Apparently this sting goes back a few years, i don't know if the gov. would risk embarrassing themselves if they didn't have good reason. If they were deep into spying like i said befoe does the gov. just let it go? that's more what im interested in

i think i read that whatever they were being brought up on charges that have something like a 5 year prison sentence. i dont remember if that was the max or the min. though.
im not sure if the charges and prison time would depending on exactly what kind of information the spy or spies were producing.

The crime that all of them are accused of is just for 5 years, but then all but two of them are being charged with something to do with laundering, which is like a 20 year sentence.

I remember hearing that the ones who were caught were deported , but their kids were kept here.
