| *scream* well the devil bothered me until i swore to him i was already dead i didn't know what to say so he said i took the money and i never looked back i bought a house for my mother i paid my kids education i swore it will crush you in two
before we have a chance before we have a chance before we have a chance before we have a chance
*scream*
do not regret my surrender he ran off with my soul my arrogance and selfishness have choose him to make a judgment call?? i came face to face with my maker brought me down to my knees?? i swear it will crush you in two
before we have a chance before we have a chance before we have a chance before we have a chance
sorry if this a bit messed up i went through it quickly with shitty ipod head phones on.
i think this song is inspired by tom's stay on the revival tour, its a story about selling your soul to the devil. the devil is a common theme among all the other revival tour members.
kick ass song i like it alot

| The song's pretty clearly a message to people who call him a sellout. I have a feeling that's part of why he didn't put it on WC, 'cause he didn't want to overdo that theme. Probably why Soul Surrender didn't make the record as well. Or else he honestly thought Ache With Me and We're Breaking Up were actually better songs. But I doubt that for some reason. | |

| Did anybody get the lyric booklet? This song in particular is pissing me off.
Does anybody else hear "And I swear by crushing you in two, you've only had the chance"? By that, does the song mean "I killed the devil before he had the chance to kill me"?
I'm thinking...
Well, the devil followed me to Gainesville, I swore to him I was already dead. "It's one million dollars if you were to sell your soul", he said. I took the money and, no, I never looked back. I bought a house for my mother, I paid for my children's education.
And I swear by crushing you in two, You've only had the chance (x4)
Do not regret my surrender, My brother and I prayed for my soul, My arrogance and selfishness, I shall receive new judgement from all. Well, then the bell will toll, And I will be face to face with my maker. I will not fall to my knees.
And I swear by crushing you in two, You've only had the chance (x4) | |
