I was told that tattoos only fade and bleed because of blood plasma in the ink. It can't be avoided, obviously, but they used to use the same ink on everyone who came in until they were out of that colour of ink. Nowadays tattoo parlours use sterile ink, for health reasons, but it also keeps the tattoo from fading over time. At least, not completely.

the color still bleeds a little (not literally BLOOD) but when you have fine details in tattoos (like the whiskers) on such a small area, after 5-10 years, the whiskers will most likely have black in them, or a lot less detail overall. It can't really be avoided. You grow, it's just the way the ink reacts in your body. It's nothing obvious and too unbearable, it will most likely still look fine. I have four tattoos, three with color. And the three all have different colors, so we'll see how that turns out over time.

I've had this tat for a while now. I didn't get the rose shaded in because at the time I wasn't sure if I wanted to ad color later. Now all my tats are black and grey, so I wish I would've had it shaded...damn.

No, it's on my arm, but I was sitting on the floor when I took it. My leg's in the pic, though, hehe. I never claimed to be an awesome photographer.

I was going to get a lightning bolt/exclamation point with against me written inside down the side of me.. but then i just ended up getting this across my stomach instead. Pretty simple but I like it.

Why isn't the dot above the "i" filled?

The actual lettering is not filled all the way. it fades out going from the bottom to the top so the guy left the dot unfilled so it would go with the rest of the tat. its hard to see cause the pic was taken right when i had gotten home from getting it and it still had all that ointment over it so it glared in the pic.

i gotta get me one.
