Hi, im dan. Im from Wisconsin/Illinois right smack dab in the middle of Chicao and Milwaukee. Nothing too exciting over here except for all the murders and drugs. maybe someone else has something to say about the midwest and we can get this thing rolling

I grew up in Monroe, WI (about 15 miles north of Freeport,IL). It's about the same, except we have less drugs and people talk like they're violent, but really are just 15 year olds trying to be tough.

Personally, I couldn't wait to get the fuck out of the hometown. How long've you been living the border life?

I have been living the border life for 23 fucking years. most of my life was spent in Kenosha which has a lot of great local bands and a couple punk bars, but most the people who frequent them are drunk fuckin meatheads. maybe its something in the water , or maybe living the border life makes you want to live life on the border and cover up the bordem with the ever so available good substances. then when you want out, your drug debts are soo high moving is out of the question. so, one of these days, ill make it back to Frisco. the only city ive ever fallen in love with

Here, here. I was only able to spend one summer after high school before my mother and I forced me to get out of that shit. As soon as I left the hometown, I was sober and loving it. As soon as I go back for break, I'll be inebriated again. Madison has no punk scene either. My friends and I tried to create one, but we never did learn to play our instruments, haha. It all seems to be metal vs. hipsters.

yeah, i fucking love D4 and Atmosphere while were on the subject of minnesota bands. but for me the twin cities are just too fucking cold. Kenowhere does have a pretty large punk scene, but it seems that most are punk for the sake of the clothes, and musical tastes dont branch out much from your typical harcore street punk. you can see what i meen by looking up kenosha punk rock picnic on you tube. police brutality at its finest.
